When: September 12th, 3:00 p.m.-9:00 p.m.
Where: Dunbar Garden, 1801 W. Chester in Little Rock.
There is a growing co-op movement in Little Rock, and much of it is headed up by the brilliant women on Solfood Catering.
They’ve been hosting the Urban Raw Festival for a few years now, and each year it has grown. This year the 3rd annual festival will take place at Dunbar Community Garden Project, September 12, 2015 and will feature workshops related to building the solidarity economy in the region.
The overarching theme for the event is “Culture. Community. Cooperation,” and will feature a workshop entitled “Let’s Co-op, Little Rock” that will educate the public on the grassroots worker-owned cooperative movement. Artisans, artists, organizers, local growers, and families are encouraged to take part!!

Organizers says the purpose of the festival is to “nurture our creative potential by bringing people together to celebrate sustainable and cruelty free living.” The event will include food demos, live music, local artisans, dynamic workshop presentations, free yoga instruction and vegetarian food options.
There will be tons of music including 9th Scientist, Buddy Case, Crystal C. Mercer, Osyrus Bolly, C.J. Boyd, and The Cult of the Butterfly Goddess and the Vudu HipPeas featuring Empress Rootwork.
All proceeds from the festival will go to fund Solfood Kitchen Cooperative (SKC), a sustainable fresh causal plant-based eatery that seeks to explore the fundamental connection between food and community in a democratic work environment. Vendors are encouraged!
